03:08 - 11/01/12 by Xcen Construction on the forum begins. I've been staring at the screen for some hours now and am really liking what I see. I've just got to try and keep it up now until completion. I'm damn determined to finish this one and make a really good go of it as it is a topic close to my heart and I want to do it justice. Buuuut right now I'm going to bed because my back is dead and painful and my fingers are starting to cramp up. Godsdamnit. x__x

This forum does involve a lot of codes I have never used before, a lot of which I have written meaning that they might not be the most trustworthy/reliable. Please, please, please can everyone let me know if they spot something out of order or flashing at them in some way. We're open to suggestions and comments all the time anyway but please just feel free to post a message in the Suggestions and Complaints board if you see anything initially wrong with the forum.
Other than that, everything is open, everything is available and I think everything has been filled in. If you spot any kind of thread at this moment that states "under construction" or something to that effect, please PM me about it because there should be nothing like that at the moment. If there is, it means that I | Read more…

This is a good board to check before applying for a character, as someone may have requested the role you're about to apply for, or may have been of someone you hadn't considered. Please take the time to briefly look through this board, just in case a needed character tickles your fancy. Current General Needs: None.
This is where we keep any applications we at AB have turned down. We don't do this as a Hall of Shame or anything similar, but as a learning experience for others. We recommend having a look at applications that were not up to AB standard before posting your own. We're an advanced writing forum and having a look at both these, and those that were accepted, will give you a good idea of what we are looking for in new applications. Within this board, we also keep applications that have been abandoned in case their owners come back to retrieve them.
And here it is! The big showcase! Once you've read through all the resources you need to and are ready to get your teeth stuck into a nice bit of creativity, then set your sites on this board. This is where all unaccepted character applications go until they are certified by a member of staff. Please post [WIP] in your thread title if you are not yet finished with the application and then remove it when you are ready to have someone check it over. Remember that this is an advanced writing forum so work to impress us! We're looking forward to seeing what you've got!
It's in our Application Vault that accepted characters can be found. They cannot be edited after application to ensure that new visitors to the site can see the exactly standard at which applications must be before acceptance. What can be edited, however, is your character's relationships and interactions with of which the below boards are used for. This board is more of a showcase if and when you wish to look up yours or another member's character bio. Please remember to check details and time-lines for any changes to original characters - do not simply assume people are playing the character as they were in the telling you remember.
Here you can find all the sign ups and registrations you may need for your characters. Face claims, character claims and things such as residences and story nomination can all be found in here. Please note that AB do not operate a reservation system pre-acceptance. Faces and characters are dealt on a first accepted, first serve basis, so please check these threads before posting an application in order to see who has/has not been taken, but you may not claim a play-by or character until your application has been moved to the vault.
Danielle Lancress was born in Puddleton village in 1479 to only her father. Her mother, Nicole, whom her middle name was taken from, died during the birth and Danielle was left to a life never knowing her mother. Her father, Auguste Lancress was a kind and gentle father who worked hard to support his daughter. In the main manor house of Puddleton village, they lived in peace with their servants Paulette, Louise and Maurice. Auguste Lancress was a well sought after food supplier whose farm was famous in the area. He would travel between the villages and occasionally further afield, past the great pass of the mountains, into other provinces of Vienne. During these times, Danielle or "Ellie" as the servants called her, was left to her own devices, supervised by the servants who rapidly became her family. Growing up in the village meant that she became friends with many of the other children and would run and play with them as often as she could, whether they were boys or girls (usually boys). She learnt, from a young age, how to work the land and make it yield its fruits, how to look | Read more…

There are information threads in each board to help you if necessary.
Like all stately families, we here at AB keep all our honourable rewards and dedications on the mantelpiece. Check this board for any past wins of awards, or open competitions so that you can have a go at achieving one yourself (just check the right sub-boards). Be it a character quote of the month or a best writer award it's your chance to get your name up in lights, so come in quick and have a look! Most of our competitions are also member driven so not only can you enter, you can also play the judge! What are you waiting for?
This is the board in which we keep time travel threads. As it can get confusing to have threads happening at different times anyway we at AB decided to at least make it a little easier by keeping threads set specifically in the past in this board, away from the main boards. As a part of plot development the board is kept here.
This is our archive board where we keep all closed and done threads. If you would like to look back at past threads or check details in storyline then this is the place to come. If you have a thread that is completed and needs to be moved to this board please message a member of staff so that they can do so.
Built to impress, the main foyer of the Royal Palace was built circular with winding staircases of white marble curling around its sides. These two arms lead up to support the balcony that sweeps out in an impressive arch over the entrance below. Set into the floor of the foyer is the artistic and painstakingly tiny pieces of mosaic that have been set to form a glorious phoenix across the white stone. As well as two pillars of stone to hold up the impressive balcony, there are also two immediately by the doors. These are made of green jade and polished to a shine daily. Just taking a step inside this room identifies the power of its owners.
Beneath the balcony railings of the Entrance Foyer are the massive arched doors that remain permanently open, leading onto the Grand Hall. Used rarely but always on show for the few guided tours the castle allows, the room is white marble in all respects until the dark ornate wooden coving of the ceilings. With vaulted architecture spanning the length of the hall, pillars near the walls mark off each five metre span. Around these pillars is draped white gossamer fabric that falls to the floor in waterfalls to pool at the base. At the far end of the Grand Hall stands the white thrones of the King and Queen on a raise circular tier, in all their majesty.
Decked in the traditional colours of purple and gold, the royal quarters house, as their name suggests, the royal family and their private rooms. Everything, from the floor to the wall panelling is in the darkest and finest wood, while, at the top of the panelling upwards, regally embossed paper spans to the wooden arches of the ceiling. The furniture is crafted to match the wood and anything fabric holds the royal colours and coat of arms - a phoenix rising up out of flame, embossed on a shield supported by lions. Living here, one is unlikely to forget their royal duty.
Another room of white marble, the Portrait Gallery is another of the few rooms visits are permitted in under strict supervision. Half pillars arch out of the wall to separate each gilded frame - frames that have their own curtains to draw against the damaging sunlight that streams through the floor to ceiling tiled window at the far end of the long room. The portraits hang in order, the royal line on one side and their wedded consorts on the other. Each member of the royal family, by tradition has their image put in its place when he or she takes the crown.
A room that spans a huge amount of the palace's basement, the royal kitchens are built in an L shape, with storage and cold cupboards around the corner and away from the stoves at the other end. Tables and ovens line the walls on either side and a huge prep table of sturdy wood stands in the middle. Small red tiles make up the floor of the room and the sound of leather boots pattering around is a constant sound. The large bread oven to one side makes the room hot and humid.
Whether trudging the ground floor's white marble of the upper levels' polished wood and red carpet, posts set in the palace without an otherwise specific location go here. If a location in the palace is frequented a lot, a new board may be made to support it. Otherwise, simply post your wanderings in this board. The corridors of the palace, as well as holding a central red carpet, also support works of are and busts on plinths, so admire as you wander.
Upon first breaching the walls of the Royal Palace, the main courtyard is your first stop. Paved and organised around a large and ornate fountain, the courtyard is surrounded by arched walkways. A large archway that leads straight through one of these paths leads to the stables, and the huge front doors of the palace are set directly in the centre at the far end. There is a small doorway alcove to move through before entering the Main Foyer and then you are there - within royal walls.
The stables and horse school are kept mostly out of sight from guests to the palace and manned by a team of grooms and stable boys. The horses are given the best treatment, food and tack money can buy and are kept in the lap of luxury in a huge thatched building. The school is regularly tended and the sand smoothed in case the royals desire a ride within at any one moment. The horses kept here are pricey, spoilt and of the purest blood. Kind of like their owners.
Rows and rows of apples - the truly deep red species of the area - hang in the orchard of the palace. Some 20 acres of the things have been planted to support the area and the royal family in their apple eating. The trees are far apart enough to be able to ride between and big enough to be able to reach out a hand and brush the branches as you go. It's a place easy to get lost or lose track of time in.
The actual land owned by the royal family so "Palace Grounds" simply includes any nooks and crannies of the place, paths, walkways and the little wooded areas, as well as the main wall surrounding the palace. If you do not know where to place your roleplay thread and you are outside then this is the place to put it. If necessary new boards may be added for frequently used locations.
The main courtyard of the town, in the centre of all gossip and activity is a large expanse of grey paving stones. The streets continue to run down the sides of the square, while the centre is dedicated to a low bearing and large circular fountain the rim of which reaches only up to the knee. This is one of the few places in town were all social circles, despite the wrinkling of noses, mingle and hear tales of others' lives. Musician buskers provide a constant soundtrack of lutes and mandolins.
The Town Hall is set down a road off of the main square is home to the town council. This council is the voice of the lower people, the president of whom is a member of the royal court and (is supposed to) pass on the voice of the people to the court that includes the crown family. Though this building is supposed to be free for all to enter, guards at the front often refuse to let in the dirty or ill-dressed. Unfortunately the legal right for people to enter is not always allowed.
The market place is the second open area in town. Full of little stalls and sellers, some with trays on loops around their necks, some with pushable tables, all calling and yelling their wears to the general public. There is a constant scent of animal, fresh produce and dirt in the air as well as dung during the bi-annual animal auction.
Home to the courtiers and richer of the middle class, the residences in town range from tall beamed homes, often situated above stores, to larger almost manor-like homes of the nobles. Remember to apply for residence in the town and, if your home is particularly large or significant a board may be opened for you.
The richer end of town sports the Yellow Brick Lane, a street of stores that cater to the rich of town. From seamstresses to furniture stores, the "Yellow Lane" is specific to order, making clothes to fit and furniture to style specifications. Any lower classes seen in the area are generally servants of the stores making deliveries or working to tempt in visitors from the streets into their store.
Toad End is on the other end of the spectrum. Here, the working and middle classes do their shopping for the few luxuries and clothes they can afford. Any kind of food stuffs and perishable goods they buy from the market place or their neighbours in surrounding villages. The lower classes also, mostly, deal in trading with those they know, rather than in money, but their few coins are spent here.
The bathhouse, though not the most frequented place in the town is one of the most highly funded. One of the few places with hot water the bathhouse is set up with four large rooms in which men and women are separated. The place is free to enter by royal command (despite the royals washing in their own baths in the palace grounds) and, therefore there are two rooms for each gender, separating the classes.
From the inner workings to the outskirts of the town any areas that do not have their own boards are to be roleplayed in this board. If a certain location repeatedly crops up, a new board may be made to accommodate them. Any roleplay in which your character is wandering around the streets of course, is also placed here. Stocks are placed all around the town, thereby being roleplayed in this board also.
The entrance hall to the university, with its brown glazed columns is coated in a deep rustic mosaic tile effect on both the floor and walls to mid-height. Above the tile is cream paint. With works of art and figures braced against every wall, the walkway from the main door is inclined toward the much varnished and ornate dark-wood staircase. Its ceiling is high and the beams distinct and the whole place smells of the bees wax used to buff up the wood.
A large room with wooden vaults across its ceiling, the food hall is longer than it is wide and encloses two very long dark wood tables expanding the entire length, benches pushed up to it. At the far end are the vats of soup and bread that are served at lunch and the large bell in the far north corner is rung when the meal is ready to be consumed, hurrying the feet of students to the hall. Professors and lectures tend to dine in their private quarters to which servants take the food.
The rooms in which the main lessons take place are two auditorium style rooms with tiered seats of brown leather, all facing toward the main half circle of a podium. A large black board stands behind and a plinth for examiners to place their materials upon is found at the front. Each of the levels of seating have a row of desks before them in order to brace parchment and quills in front of them.
These rooms are specifically off limits to students unless invited in by a tutor. This means that if you have a problem or a teacher has a problem with you these rooms are utilised for private meetings, uninterrupted by other students. Usually small unless for Master Professors' these rooms generally consist of a large desk, shelving and a large leather bound chair. They tend to be full to bursting with books.
These rooms are for closer learning with a large circular table in which professors teach a small group of students on a more personal level than in the lectures. The rooms are comprised of wooden furniture and book cases can be found on most walls. These sessions are put together between lectures in order to further students' learning through discussion and deep analysis.
The biggest collection of books in the kingdom, the library holds row upon row of book shelves which are too high to reach without the aid of one of the wooden ladders that run on wheels along the shelving units. The rest of the library is taken up by green fabric backed chairs and little oil lamps that light the place at night. During the day, huge paned windows let in the sunlight.
Loo, toilet, whatever you want to call it, this is the place in the University where you do the business. Obviously, without the aid of internal plumbing its on the ground floor and arranged into two rooms that have rows of holes on which you sit. Lovely. I doubt there will be many roleplay threads in this board but it is a genuine location within the university so here you go.
The corridors of the university are decked out in their finest with thick red carpet running down the centre and works of art on walls and plinths along the hallway. There may be genuine writing happening here or, if you are roleplaying in a location that has not yet been identified please post it in here. New boards may be made for frequented locations.
Similar to the sports field in modern schools, the Jousting Lane is a long stadium in effect and encloses a long lane of sandy ground with a wooden pole spanning its length. Often full with cheering and engaging spectators the Jousting Lane is used for jousting events outside of the university as well as the annual school tournament. Therefore it is kept in pristine condition.
For anywhere else in the tree dotted university grounds post your roleplaying thread here. This can be wandering around the sides or backs of buildings, or it can be venturing over the green fields of the main grounds themselves. Also, if you are roleplaying in an area unspecified outside of the university, then this is the board for you. New boards may be made for any frequented locations in this board.
The harbour of the town is large and impressive. With birds and sailors milling about the place it is rarely frequented by the higher social circles. The local fish market takes place here and, around the edges of the harbour, there are many shops and stores that call out their wears. The harbour is not a place to swim as many boats come in and out making the waters choppy and dangerous.
The battlements of the town run around the entire settlement, hugging Fae to the shoreline. The little villages in the boards below are outside of these walls thereby meaning that they need to cross through in order to get into the main settlement. Constantly watched and monitored by patrol guards around its top, the wall is intimidating but practical if ever wars or dangers come to town.
Thick and dense, the Everwood Forest is made of trees that no longer lose their leaves in winter time. Instead, the wood remains green all year round and holds hide-aways and secret dens in which anyone can venture but rarely do. If evil or secret doings are happening, this is most likely the place. It is also a useful location for bandits and thieves and many try to attack carriages and horse riders that journey down the main road through the forest.
One of the closest flower meadows to Fae, the Buttercup Meadow is bright yellow from little flowers to grow on the end of long stems. To kneel in this meadow would be to be lost in it and invisible to passersby and the smell of the flowers is a little drug inducing. The main purpose of these flowers is to be ground and smoked as a past-time as the aroma of the flowers is less offensive than normal tobacco. This is a romantic and easily-lost in environment to enjoy.
The city that used to exist in this area was the legendary Far Far Away which now only supports ruins of its former self. In grey stone covered in ivy and tree growth, the ruins are majestic yet sad in how they imply how grand the city once was. Easily accessible, yet not the most welcoming, the ruins are occasionally frequented during the day but never at night as the shadows and broken buildings can frighten.
For anywhere else outside of the town of Fae, this is the place to roleplaying, whether far or near. Please indicate clearly in your first post exactly where you are so that others have the opportunity to join in. If there is a certain location frequented by several threads then new boards may be made to accommodate them. This is also the place to roleplay if you truly are just wandering around the dusty tracks.
The richest of the four main villages of the region. Bishopsgate holds the main church in which the villagers congregate every Sunday. The town is named after the large archway under which the congregation has to work in order to get into the graveyard and grounds of the church. Those born and raised in this village are the ones most likely to take on paths in the faith or in scholarly efforts through the association with the monks that run the church. A few nobles also live in this village as it is the nicest and wealthiest of the four.
Lockson is famous for its smithies and its craft. The town has a substantial blacksmiths, a carpenters and a thatcher all living in the same village who collaborate and contribute to the others in the area. It is also a heavy farming town for wheat and barley. Most young men in this town work in the craft they prefer, or tend the fields, while the women work at selling the produce made and sowing the new crops for the next year. They're also responsible for raising the children as all women are.
Puddleton is the farming down. With acres of farmland and a water powered mill for grinding bread, the village is one of the biggest contributors to the market place. Each family owns a little bit of the land which they farm themselves and then sell on their own little stalls. Puddleton is small but picturesque as it also produces the flowers and decorations the palace and mansions in town are fond of, making it a pretty place to live yet stifling in career prospects. People born here generally die here and are happy with their lot in life.
Pimm is perhaps the smallest and poorest of the four villages. It is mostly worked by the poor who can afford only to harvest what they themselves need rather than producing for selling to others. It's only focus point is that it is on the main road and the tavern in the town makes a little money from passing travellers wishing to stay the night. As Pimm is furthest from the town most of its inhabitants wash in the nearby brook that leads on to Puddleton and are the ones who have noses turned up at them on market day.
Acres and acres of farmland fields are the initial surroundings to the town of Fae. Tended by the residents of the little villages in the area or by servants and farming families that live out in farms separate from the town. These fields are generally green and yellow in colour from their produce but several also hold brilliant colours of flowers used in the dying of fabric, creating a pretty landscape.
A dry and desolate crevice in the ground, Thebes Quarry mines the general grey stone that becomes most of the buildings in the town. The marble that makes up the palace structures is imported from far off countries. The labourers of the quarry tend to be criminals and servants sold to pay debts. They are forced to the quarry as punishment as the hours are long and the work hard, under the hot sun.
Situated at the bottom of the Dragorian mountains is an under ground cave. In this cave is the melted water from the snow of its peaks, forming an indoor pool among glittering ice. The place is freezing and very rarely visited but it is a beautiful place to spend short whiles in, and home to many rumours and stories.
Coated in a layer of snowy white on their peaks, the Dragorian mountain range separates Fae and its surrounding villages from other areas of the realm. Visitors either have to travel for days around them or move through the Pass where they must pass a check point before proceeding.

A Long Time Ago This is the board in which we keep time travel threads. As it can get confusing to have threads happening at different times anyway we at AB decided to at least make it a little easier by keeping threads set specifically in the past in this board, away from the main boards. As this is part of plot and storyline development the board is kept here.

AB Archives This is our archive board where we keep all closed and done threads. If you would like to look back at past threads or check details in storyline then this is the place to come. If you have a thread that is completed and needs to be moved to this board please message a member of staff so that they can do so.

The Main Foyer Built to impress, the main foyer of the Royal Palace was built circular with winding staircases of white marble curling around its sides.

The Grand Hall Beneath the balcony railings of the Entrance Foyer are the massive arched doors that remain permanently open, leading onto the Grand Hall.

The Royal Quarters Decked in the traditional colours of purple and gold, the royal quarters house, as their name suggests, the royal family and their private rooms.

Portrait Gallery Another room of white marble, the Portrait Gallery is another of the few rooms visits are permitted in under strict supervision.

The Kitchens A room that spans a huge amount of the palace's basement, the royal kitchens are built in an L shape, with storage and cold cupboards around the corner and away from the stoves at the other end. Tables and ovens line the walls on either side and a huge prep table of sturdy wood stands in the middle. Small red tiles make up the floor of the room and the sound of leather boots pattering around is a constant sound. The large bread oven to one side makes the room hot and humid.
The Corridors Whether trudging the ground floor's white marble of the upper levels' polished wood and red carpet, posts set in the palace without an otherwise specific location go here. If a location in the palace is frequented a lot, a new board may be made to support it. Otherwise, simply post your wanderings in this board. The corridors of the palace, as well as holding a central red carpet, also support works of are and busts on plinths, so admire as you wander.

Main Courtyard Upon first breaching the walls of the Royal Palace, the main courtyard is your first stop.

Stables and School The stables and horse school are kept mostly out of sight from guests to the palace and manned by a team of grooms and stable boys.

The Orchard Rows and rows of apples - the truly deep red species of the area - hang in the orchard of the palace. Some 20 acres of the things have been planted to support the area and the royal family in their apple eating. The trees are far apart enough to be able to ride between and big enough to be able to reach out a hand and brush the branches as you go. It's a place easy to get lost or lose track of time in.

Palace Grounds The actual land owned by the royal family so "Palace Grounds" simply includes any nooks and crannies of the place, paths, walkways and the little wooded areas, as well as the main wall surrounding the palace. If you do not know where to place your roleplay thread and you are outside then this is the place to put it. If necessary new boards may be added for frequently used locations.

Central Square The main courtyard of the town, in the centre of all gossip and activity is a large expanse of grey paving stones.

Town Hall The Town Hall is set down a road off of the main square is home to the town council.

Market Place The market place is the second open area in town. Full of little stalls and sellers, some with trays on loops around their necks, some with pushable tables, all calling and yelling their wears to the general public. There is a constant scent of animal, fresh produce and dirt in the air as well as dung during the bi-annual animal auction.

Town Residential Home to the courtiers and richer of the middle class, the residences in town range from tall beamed homes, often situated above stores, to larger almost manor-like homes of the nobles. Remember to apply for residence in the town and, if your home is particularly large or significant a board may be opened for you.

Yellow Brick Lane The richer end of town sports the Yellow Brick Lane, a street of stores that cater to the rich of town. From seamstresses to furniture stores, the "Yellow Lane" is specific to order, making clothes to fit and furniture to style specifications. Any lower classes seen in the area are generally servants of the stores making deliveries or working to tempt in visitors from the streets into their store.

Toad End Toad End is on the other end of the spectrum.

The Bathhouse The bathhouse, though not the most frequented place in the town is one of the most highly funded. One of the few places with hot water the bathhouse is set up with four large rooms in which men and women are separated. The place is free to enter by royal command (despite the royals washing in their own baths in the palace grounds) and, therefore there are two rooms for each gender, separating the classes.

Cobbled Streets From the inner workings to the outskirts of the town any areas that do not have their own boards are to be roleplayed in this board. If a certain location repeatedly crops up, a new board may be made to accommodate them. Any roleplay in which your character is wandering around the streets of course, is also placed here. Stocks are placed all around the town, thereby being roleplayed in this board also.
Entrance Hall The entrance hall to the university, with its brown glazed columns is coated in a deep rustic mosaic tile effect on both the floor and walls to mid-height. Above the tile is cream paint. With works of art and figures braced against every wall, the walkway from the main door is inclined toward the much varnished and ornate dark-wood staircase. Its ceiling is high and the beams distinct and the whole place smells of the bees wax used to buff up the wood.

Food Hall A large room with wooden vaults across its ceiling, the food hall is longer than it is wide and encloses two very long dark wood tables expanding the entire length, benches pushed up to it. At the far end are the vats of soup and bread that are served at lunch and the large bell in the far north corner is rung when the meal is ready to be consumed, hurrying the feet of students to the hall. Professors and lectures tend to dine in their private quarters to which servants take the food.

Lecture Theatres The rooms in which the main lessons take place are two auditorium style rooms with tiered seats of brown leather, all facing toward the main half circle of a podium. A large black board stands behind and a plinth for examiners to place their materials upon is found at the front. Each of the levels of seating have a row of desks before them in order to brace parchment and quills in front of them.

Professors' Offices These rooms are specifically off limits to students unless invited in by a tutor. This means that if you have a problem or a teacher has a problem with you these rooms are utilised for private meetings, uninterrupted by other students. Usually small unless for Master Professors' these rooms generally consist of a large desk, shelving and a large leather bound chair. They tend to be full to bursting with books.

Tutor Rooms These rooms are for closer learning with a large circular table in which professors teach a small group of students on a more personal level than in the lectures. The rooms are comprised of wooden furniture and book cases can be found on most walls. These sessions are put together between lectures in order to further students' learning through discussion and deep analysis.

The Great Library The biggest collection of books in the kingdom, the library holds row upon row of book shelves which are too high to reach without the aid of one of the wooden ladders that run on wheels along the shelving units. The rest of the library is taken up by green fabric backed chairs and little oil lamps that light the place at night. During the day, huge paned windows let in the sunlight.

The Privy Loo, toilet, whatever you want to call it, this is the place in the University where you do the business. Obviously, without the aid of internal plumbing its on the ground floor and arranged into two rooms that have rows of holes on which you sit. Lovely. I doubt there will be many roleplay threads in this board but it is a genuine location within the university so here you go.

Hallways The corridors of the university are decked out in their finest with thick red carpet running down the centre and works of art on walls and plinths along the corridor. There may be genuine writing happening here or, if you are roleplaying in a location that has not yet been identified please post it in here. New boards may be made for frequented locations.

Jousting Lane Similar to the sports field in modern schools, the Jousting Lane is a long stadium in effect and encloses a long lane of sandy ground with a wooden pole spanning its length. Often full with cheering and engaging spectators the Jousting Lane is used for jousting events outside of the university as well as the annual school tournament. Therefore it is kept in pristine condition.

University Grounds For anywhere else in the tree dotted university grounds post your roleplaying thread here. This can be wandering around the sides or backs of buildings, or it can be venturing over the green fields of the main grounds themselves. Also, if you are roleplaying in an area unspecified outside of the university, then this is the board for you. New boards may be made for any frequented locations in this board.

Fae Harbour The harbour of the town is large and impressive. With birds and sailors milling about the place it is rarely frequented by the higher social circles. The local fish market takes place here and, around the edges of the harbour, there are many shops and stores that call out their wears. The harbour is not a place to swim as many boats come in and out making the waters choppy and dangerous.

Guard Battlements The battlements of the town run around the entire settlement, hugging Fae to the shoreline. The little villages in the boards below are outside of these walls thereby meaning that they need to cross through in order to get into the main settlement. Constantly watched and monitored by patrol guards around its top, the wall is intimidating but practical if ever wars or dangers come to town.

Everwood Forest Thick and dense, the Everwood Forest is made of trees that no longer lose their leaves in winter time.

Buttercup Meadow One of the closest flower meadows to Fae, the Buttercup Meadow is bright yellow from little flowers to grow on the end of long stems.

Far Far Away Ruins The city that used to exist in this area was the legendary Far Far Away which now only supports ruins of its former self. In grey stone covered in ivy and tree growth, the ruins are majestic yet sad in how they imply how grand the city once was. Easily accessible, yet not the most welcoming, the ruins are occasionally frequented during the day but never at night as the shadows and broken buildings can frighten.

Dusty Tracks For anywhere else outside of the town of Fae, this is the place to roleplaying, whether far or near. Please indicate clearly in your first post exactly where you are so that others have the opportunity to join in. If there is a certain location frequented by several threads then new boards may be made to accommodate them. This is also the place to roleplay if you truly are just wandering around the dusty tracks.

Bishopsgate The richest of the four main villages of the region.

Lockson Lockson is famous for its smithies and its craft.

Puddleton Puddleton is the farming down.

Pimm Pimm is perhaps the smallest and poorest of the four villages.

Farmland Acres Acres and acres of farmland fields are the initial surroundings to the town of Fae. Tended by the residents of the little villages in the area or by servants and farming families that live out in farms separate from the town. These fields are generally green and yellow in colour from their produce but several also hold brilliant colours of flowers used in the dying of fabric, creating a pretty landscape.

Thebes Quarry A dry and desolate crevice in the ground, Thebes Quarry mines the general grey stone that becomes most of the buildings in the town. The marble that makes up the palace structures is imported from far off countries. The labourers of the quarry tend to be criminals and servants sold to pay debts. They are forced to the quarry as punishment as the hours are long and the work hard, under the hot sun.

Silver Lagoon Situated at the bottom of the Dragorian mountains is an under ground cave. In this cave is the melted water from the snow of its peaks, forming an indoor pool among glittering ice. The place is freezing and very rarely visited but it is a beautiful place to spend short whiles in, and home to many rumours and stories.

Dragorian Mountain Range Coated in a later of snowy white on their peaks, the Dragorian mountain range separates Fae and its surrounding villages from other areas of the realm. Visitors either have to travel for days around them or move through the Pass where they must pass a check point before proceeding.

Graphic Design and FanFiction Creativity rarely stops at roleplay so here at AB we have this little board dedicated to any other creative ventures our members take part in. Please feel free to have a look around at people's work, or post something up of your own. If you are looking for someone to commission you an avatar or signature set, for example, here is the place to look. Plot Pages These are pretty much mandatory here at AB. We can't force you to post one of these but we highly recommend that you do. They are a brilliant and effective way to communicate and plot plan with other members on the forum and also helps you to keep track of what exactly is happening to each character. You can also check out other peoples' to find out who their character knows and is acquainted with.
Thread Trackers Thread trackers are a useful tool here at AB. You can have your own personal thread tracker (specific to you and not your character) and keep a list of exactly where your characters have been and gone. It is a good idea to also put your character names in the title of your thread tracker so that, at a glance, other people can see who you are and who you play.

You can post songs that remind you of their storyline, images you think you might want to use in future graphics. Little samples or mono-roleplay posts. Anything and everything that is fun, random and could develop your character further goes in here. Each post an be IC or OOC, whichever is more appropriate.

IC Journals These are your characters' official journals. Not all characters need have a journal - especially if they are not the kind to keep one, but they can be fun and useful for other people to get a glimpse into the mind of your charrie. This board is slightly different to Letters and Notes as this board is your character making notes to themselves and the above link is your character writing letters to others.
